Wanna check out one of my favorite places on the web? You should because it's a great cause and cool site. It's called Roots and Shoots and it was started by the very awesome and famous woman, Jane Goodall. I'm gonna let them tell you in their own words what it is all about:
The Roots & Shoots program is about making positive change happen—for our communities, for animals and for the environment. With tens of thousands of young people in almost 100 countries, the Roots & Shoots network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world. Young people identify problems in their communities and take action. Through service projects, youth-led campaigns and an interactive website, Roots & Shoots members are making a difference across the globe.
It's a great way to get involved in environmental issues and changing the world -- you can get involved through school, or even just with a small group of girlfriends in your neighborhood. It's all about knowledge, compassion and then ACTION. You can make giant peace puppets, plant some trees or get the word out about their bag program. They give you specific ways, from the small to the large, on how YOU can get in on that ACTION and make a difference.
