For it's eighth season with a two-night, four-hour premiere at 8pm on January 13 and January 14. The new season begins with three weeks of audition episodes until January 29 followed by "Hollywood Round" episodes on February 3 with the first viewer voting starting February 17.
The "age" rules didn't change this year, like rumors said. All contestants must be between 16 and 28 years old on July 15, 2008 -- meaning that all applicants must be born on or between July 16, 1979 and July 15, 1992 in order to be eligible to participate.
But remember, there is a NEW JUDGE (mentioned months ago on this here blog.) Her name is Kara DioGuardio and she's a songwriter / producer.
Auditions for the eighth installment of American Idol will begin in San Francisco, CA on Thursday, July 17 at The Cow Palace. The rest of the audition dates are:
