Radio, Radio

MTVu has announced the nominees for their Woodie Awards. Essentially this is "college music awards" and you can vote. My pick for best video of the year? That one above, Vampire Weekend's "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa". It's a pretty cute high school party story until the dark girl takes the band out to the forest / beach. It's funny and the song is, I think, awesome. But maybe you'd choose Adele's "Chasing Pavements"? It's a really good song too.

** On another note, this will sound like a commercial for AOL radio, but there ain't nothing to buy, so whatever. I have been so loving listening to their different radio stations this week online. They just announced a Halloween station, which will come in handy in the next few weeks, too. But really this is what I think is cool and what I'm listening to:

* The Full CD Listening Party. Yep, you can hear the whole CD while sitting there at your computer. What are they spinning? This week you can hear Demi Lovato's new one (that's a no for me, but maybe you likey?) the Sex and the City soundtrack which has tracks from Estelle, Goldfrapp and Ingrid Michaelson and Australian singer Lenka's new CD (It's very cool.)

* The wacky Radio Stations which can be themed basic and popular (like the Fresh 100 which plays all the top tracks) to an all-Radiohead radio station and everything in between. Discover new music or just hear your favorite tracks all in one place.

* The Ourstage free MP3s of new artists section. You can really be one of the first to hear a band or singer. They have them separated into genres so you can just listen to the new singer-songwriters or popsters or country performers.
